A DIGITAL PLATFORM THAT WANTS TO CONNECT UNCONNECTED PEOPLE THROUGH WORDS OF KINDNESS
How would you feel if you received a kind message from a stranger?
Did you know that being kind to others could dramatically increase your levels of happiness?
In the last 10 years there have been an explosion of studies and movements around positive
phycology (the study of happiness) and especially the study of kindness as a mean to
increase personal happiness.
Research done Shawn Achor, Harvard professor and founder of the Institute of Applied
Positive Research has revealed that happiness can dramatically increase our level of
productivity, creative and engagement up to 40%.
Some of the behaviors identified as a key to a positive mindset is the practice of random acts
kindness and this is what The Sugar Cube Factory, a project recently launch on Kickstarter, is
set to do in a global scale.
The Sugar cube factory is a website that allows users to send a short message (Sugar Cube)
to a complete group of strangers in different parts of the world.
Sugar cubes are kind messages written with the sole intention to make somebody else
happy, from sharing a life lesson to wising a good day. Sugar cubes are created to make
people smile.
Who writes Sugar Cubes? Anybody who wants to express positive thoughts and make
somebody smile.
Who receives Sugar Cubes? People who have already written Sugar Cubes and decide
they also want to receive kind messages from strangers.
The Sugar Cube Factory intends to build a place where people can practice a random act of
kindness and benefit from other people's good intentions
The project is based on the premise that we do not need to be connected directly to people
in order to be kind and that taking the time to write a sugar cube will contribute with our daily
practice of kindness while improving other people’s lives.
The objective of The Sugar Cube Factory is to build a platform that connects unconnected
people through words of kindness.
