The third story written for Newsgrape by 7-year-old Fawzan Siddiqui

Far away in deep space there was a planet called planet Samosa. All living samosas live there: adults, babies and teenagers. One day five teenage friends were banished from the planet because they called samosas ugly, set off the fire alarm at school and had food fights! So then they were sent to earth by the boss samosa through a portal. The five samosas were very unhappy and wanted to return to Planet Samosa. They were also amazed to see that they ended up in a city called New York. As the five samosas hurried through the street to find a spaceship they had to hide from scary giants called human beings. Finally the five samosas found a shop (shaped like a spaceship) and went inside. It didn’t look like a spaceship inside and there were human beings there as well. The five samosas did not give up finding out how to launch the shop (shaped like a spaceship). Finally the five samosas found out that they were in a shop the whole time. They were disappointed by that so they continued to look for a spaceship. While the five samosas were far away they saw something called a big screen which was showing the news. It said that there is a spaceship about to launch two miles away from here. The five samosas were so happy to hear this that they ran two miles. After running so far the five samosas sat down to have a rest. But then they noticed they were sitting in front of the spaceship and the count down had already started!

Quickly they jumped on to the spaceship. Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Blast off!!! The problem was that the five samosas were slipping off so they had to get in the spaceship. The five samosas managed to get in but to their surprise there were to more human beings. These ones were called astronauts and they operate spaceships. They were coming to a landing and they were on the moon. The five samosas got some extra space helmets (when the space men had left) and walked under them. The five samosas could see the portal they were sucked into. Their plan was to glide to Planet Samosa without being sucked into the portal, walk under some cones in the street, sneak into the boss samosa’s office and talk with him. But they had to do it quickly because if they glided in space for 13 seconds then they would die. So they started gliding.

Thirteen. Twelve. Eleven. Ten.

The five samosas were half way there.

Nine, Eight, Seven.

They were almost there.

Six. Five. Four. Three. Two.

And they had made it just in time! So the five samosas walked under some cones. They did bump into each other but they made it across the street. Then the five samosas sneaked into the boss samosa’s office and started talking. ”Boss samosa, please forgive us.” They surprised the boss samosa. ”I THOUGHT YOU WERE BANISHED”.

”Please don’t get angry whith us,” said the five samosas, ”We only wanted to get back to Planet Samosa. The boss samosa thought about this. ”PLEASE FORGIVE US,” begged the samosas. ”Alright,” said the boss samosa, ”but you have to promise not to do it again.”

“We will”.”

I was actually surprised by how good this story is! But how did the samosas manage to go from the Moon to Planet Samosa in under 13 seconds?
