Slash Google instead of Plus...
In nature nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed.

Ok, that is not news, i know. But i need to talk about this vibe that i think is pretty interesting because of a lot of reasons. But to talk about it, i need to tell you one thing: I did not ever enter the Orkut world. Why? Because when i did start to listen about it, i did not even had an idea what it was about. And when i understood the "social" thing behind it, i did think: "That is ***".
So, my friends talking about how cool it was, and beeing in touch with a lot of old friends, and so on... so i remember one day i had a lot of invitations on my email, and i did try to access the orkut site (girls involved, for sure).
Well, i was thinking about the "invitation" as a "calling" from my friends to get in, but when i did try to access the site i did know that the "invitation" was a "formal" procedure. Without it, you could not access it. So i did think: ok that is some kind o fraternity shit. My friends are watching too many hollywood movies. That's not for me.
Orkut was a great vibe here at Brazil, and for my surprise, pretty soon was considered not "cool" anymore. Because anyone was in, and so the invitation thing, the supposed "exclusivity" was not there anymore. You have this kind of people:
that wants to be where nobody else is. It's some kind of "shared" isolation, where nobody is, but where everyone needs to want to be. And so, if you is there, it is cool.
I don't know if this phrase above even makes sense, but communication is this, try to express something in a accurate way. And if that phrase does not makes sense, i did the perfect job on the communication side.
In these days we have many, many social sites, and that is the new wave. People finding a new way to kiss, to talk, to sex, but not to communicate. But wait, it's not a complementary way of communication anymore, is a substitution, and that is the problem. I do see this s*** on a daily basis, people that sit side-by-side talking through twiiter, or even using some kind of messenger system (?). People dating on the computer, when they could just go to a pub, and laugh together, with beer and divide the ticket.
But all that is another history, and my point is the called google plus. But just one more thing before this google "minus"... as all of you, i did see the facebook movie, and the argument from the facebook author (or not, don't ask me):
But already exists friendster, myspace, orkut, and etc.
The answer: ... the email from harvard.edu.
Ok, they are rich, they have a fraternity where just the sons of the world.com's owners can participate, and they want to create a business on the net for that ... let's say: ten users?! I can see where a company can profit with a billion users database, but the "internet-fraternity" that the "i-dont-remmenber-the-name" brothers where thinking... i don't. I don't know any rich guy that lives profiting from another rich guy. Anyway...
I think you are getting my point, but i did remember one more thing (before google said: plus), the ICQ. That was a cool thing, a lot of companies did use the SOLUTION from mirabilis. Something new, adding value, and a complementary technology for the good (at the time). Sometime later, i did hear about the microsoft wanting to create a message system, and so... ok, that will not work, we already have ICQ, it works great, is stabilished. And now, everybody has a msn account ( i guess). You get it! I don't know nothing about business on the internet.
Now, Google "plus".
We have myspace, facebook, friendster, invitation systems, ICQ, messenger, twitter, and etc. Everyone that i know thinks that google will dominate the world, that the brilliant guys are there, the hackers are there... i understand that the guys know how to make money, and i do not doubt that in a business perspective, they certainly will do well. But use the google+ to twitte? I already have your twitter man, what is your point?
We are not "googlers", but can do better (actually, is already done). See? Now i did remember about altavista.com...
