Forest of Memories

-at times we are all lost within ourselves and we find ourselves in different places in different aspects.

Petals they fall ever so gracefully,
onto the ground, making it blush so beautifully.
With a rose in hand he keeps walking,
down this path of utter dis-belief.
A broken heart shattered into fragments,
in this forest of shadows where he now forgets.
His past walking ever so closely,
broken twigs and raining leaves from heavens of serenity.

Leaving a trail of memories behind,
dying petals are all there is to find.
This dying flower, each withering petal,
like his feelings which still linger to battle.
Trying not to look back he keeps on walking,
a hollow heart, beating with no compassion.
And ever so truly he is scared to look up,
into the burning abyss of scarlet horizons.

Through the haze a glimmer he sees,
the break of dawn from within these trees.
A shed of light seeps through the cracks,
and onto the ground like a beam of hope.
And as the scarlet skies fade to azure,
in the distance he sees a maiden so pure.
An angel she is in the sight of his eyes,
giving him strength to pull through his cries.

And in this new found day of a 100 smiles,
he sees the utter radiance of innocence, so divine.
Shredding through all his dis-belief,
ensnared he is inside his puzzled own mind.
An angel he thinks he has found,
or maybe it is she who has found his soul so confound.
Like the vibrant beauty that's in her eyes,
her smile brings back his life of rhymes.

A dream come true, undoubtedly it seems.
these souls they connect, inevitable it must be.
Though at times hope may seem bleak,
it is only for her his heart it beats.
And as the seasons they change ever so coldly,
his love for her grows stronger irrevocably.
So as the final petals fall with ease,
it seems that this lost soul is finally at peace.
