Hopeless

I’ve been told over and over,
to speak of the good and beauty around.
Maybe i will, one day when i am sober,
and not drunk on the deceit so abound.
Simple and pointless my words may seem.
Heard them a million times from the kings and queens.
But still we forget ourselves to redeem.
And the lives which are lost in the name of peace.

So tell me how we can talk of the exotic greens,
the beautiful trees and dying breeds?
This world is contorted with selfish agendas,
driven only through lies and false propagandas.
You say i should talk of the good being attempted,
but the truth is, we are merely being exploited.
Controlled and subjugated we have no where to go.
Our future is hopeless, that is how it shows.
