Is Green a Phase?

We go through different phases in our life. Is green one of them?

As our lives progress, we go through different stages in life, both as individuals and as a society as a whole.
If you look back on your life about 10, 15 or 20 years ago, you might wonder what the heck you were thinking.
When looking at photo albums you might come across a picture and say “that was a mistake” about your wardrobe or ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.
We go through our stages.
As a kid, there might have been a TV show or a food you loved but as you got older, you became less and less interested and before too long, you wanted nothing to do with it.
It’s also amazing how society is always changing.
Things that were considered unacceptable 20 years ago are more than acceptable today.
There was a time when it was considered unacceptable and unethical to show a couple in the same bed, even if they were just sitting there. Nowadays a movie scene with more than that is still considered G-rated.
Even in cartoons today, the writers will try to push their own political agenda any way possible. They may talk about fighting global warming or helping mother earth.
I’m all for keep keeping clean environment but that doesn’t necessarily translate to the same thing as a green environment.
This brings me to my original question: Is green a phase?
I’m all for not littering and throwing trash in the trash can where it belongs but this doesn’t help fight global warming or even to keep the environment clean.
Your decision on whether or not to throw away a water bottle will have no effect on the Chicago gas prices, even if you do live there.
People have good intentions but their focus may often in the wrong place. I think many people will begin to realize this and look at their green phase and ask themselves “what was I thinking?”
