There appears to be problems with back up power for the nuclear power cooling systems at at least one energy plant in Japan.
It was recently reported that the nuclear radiation levels in Japan are showing signs and readings of 1000 times normal. People have been evacuated from the site of the possible radiation leak spawned by the 8.9 magnitude earthquake near it's epicenter.
With these latest reports it weighs heavily on my mind about the risks associated with nuclear power compared to the amount of time and energy devoted to predicted unproven risks about man made global warming.
In Japan 3,000 people were evacuated from the area surrounding the nuclear power facility called Fukushima nuclear facility. Those 3 - 10 miles away have been told to stay indoors because the water mist could carry the nuclear radiation that far through the air.
The amount of radiation reached around 1,000 times the normal level Saturday in the control room of the No. 1 reactor of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said.
The discovery suggests radioactive steam could spread around the facility operated by Tokyo Electric Power Co.
If steam is spreading in the facility this could mean quite a bit worse as the plant continues to meltdown.
I just hope the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency has a plan to keep the nuclear power plant cooled and is working on sealing the leak as this area of Japan could become unusable for decades and kill thousands of people.
I am at the point of saying no more Japan nuclear meltdown for today please or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Has nuclear finally had its last breath?

I had linked to a related post on this topic and noticed the article was tagged as promoting something. There was nothing for sell in the link as the link was simply pointing to more information on the subject. I have removed the link and hope that this article could be reviewed as not promoting anything.

I'm glad someone got here before me. I wanted to write a similar article on the crisis in Japan.

Not sure what that means exactly, but I do wish to commend the OP on his article.
